Last night, Lichfield City Council unanimously approved our plans to revitalise the city centre with the regeneration of the Friarsgate shopping centre. Our plans for the project will deliver a new mixed-use development that creates new homes, shops, places to eat and relax, a new gym, a multi-screen cinema and leisure facilities, creating a new destination for the city.
In addition, the regeneration project will improve the transport infrastructure for Lichfield - an attractive heritage city located approximately 18 miles to the north of Birmingham - with a new bus station located near to the train station and 500 new car parking spaces.
Working alongside the council, we’ve spoken to hundreds of residents and local businesses as we’ve developed our designs. Our priority has been to create a scheme that references the traditions and identity of Lichfield, an attractive cathedral city with a rich heritage, and that also creates a destination fit for the future, which breathes new life into the city centre.
With planning permission now secured, we’ll be working hard to attract a strong line up of retail and leisure brands to make this the go-to place for Lichfield.
