The future is Slough

Ultimately, The Future Works was designed to change perceptions of office space in Slough.

Recently we were very proud to unveil The Future Works, our ambitious new office building in central Slough, alongside our partners AshbyCapital.

Thanks to an ambitious regeneration program, Slough’s town centre is being remade and we’re excited to be part of this transformation. The Future Works signals a step-change in the quality of office space for the town offering 100,000 sq. ft. of Grade A workspace, moments from Slough train station. We celebrated in style at a launch party attended by over 150 agents who got to see behind the scenes of this brand new addition to Slough’s skyline.

With exceptional facilities and a spectrum of workspaces, Future Works has been designed to cater for a new generation of both entrepreneurs and corporates to work and thrive. Well connected to both Slough town centre and London, The Future Works is on the doorstep of Slough station, just 16 minutes from London Paddington and will welcome the Elizabeth Line next year with journey times of only 32 minutes to Bond Street.

The unrivalled facilities at the site include an exceptional communal roof terrace with Wi-Fi connectivity and views of Windsor Castle. Ground-floor retail space will animate the walkway at the bottom of the building, just moments from the station from morning to evening. The building also has a striking entrance hall, secure basement parking (including electric car charging spaces), and extensive facilities for cyclists and runners such as bicycle parking, changing rooms with towel service, and a drying room.

Ultimately, The Future Works was designed to change perceptions of office space in Slough.

And it’s working. We have already secured our first tenant for The Future Works, pre-letting the ground and first floors to serviced office and co-working provider Central Working. The hub, the 10th across the UK for the company, will offer space for 350 workers and be Slough’s first high-quality flexible workspace.

Central Working will also run the large communal roof terrace, which will be accessible to all the building’s employees and will run everything from yoga classes to cocktail-making sessions.

For U+I, this is just the end of the first phase of a £200 million investment in the town. In total, the three-phase regeneration project will create around 350,000 sq ft of new office accommodation – and we have already received planning consent for phase two.

Named the best place to work in the UK by Glassdoor, and with the highest concentration of global headquarters outside London, Slough is already an extremely business-friendly location. But, like Croydon, it is undergoing another renaissance – and we’re really excited to be involved.

The Future Works forms the first phase of a wider regeneration project, creating not just spaces in which to work, but places where people will want to be, generating lasting demand and bringing new life to the area. With so much to offer businesses, helping them attract top talent, we’re thrilled to see the area fulfilling its considerable potential.

83,075 sq ft of Grade A office space over six contiguous floors remains and is available via joint agents JLL and Cushman & Wakefield.
