Wolfox to bring new Japanese concept to the new Circus Street quarter, Brighton

21.07.22

Brighton stalwart Wolfox has taken on the ground floor of The Office in Circus Street, Brighton, part of the new Circus Street Quarter and will open a stunning Japanese food concept restaurant called FUMI later this year.

With sustainability at its heart, in everything from furniture to food, the new restaurant will offer morning coffee, breakfast and brunch as well as sushi and bento box lunches. In the evening, it will transform into a stylish fine-dining Japanese restaurant.

“Following the huge success of our plant-based Japanese restaurant Kusaki in New England Road, our superb Japanese chef will be elaborating a mixed meat, vegetarian and vegan menu, creating something special and unique for this exciting new space,” said Wolfox founder Fabio Lauro.

“Despite the popularity of Japanese cuisine, there is not currently a fine dining experience on offer in the city and we are creating a place for people to enjoy special occasions and smart dinners, inspired by nature and seasonality, which will be a real treat for Japanese food lovers.”

Fabio’s team will start fitting out the space next month, focused on using sustainable products in line with their food and drink ethos, which includes using local, seasonal ingredients where possible, including their own locally-brewed beer.

“We are thrilled to welcome Wolfox as the latest in a list of top class brands and businesses which will help us to create an exciting, innovative and joyful atmosphere in the new Circus Street community,” said Rob Sloper, Development Director at U+I, the Circus Street developers.

Circus Street and its architects shedkm have recently won two major architectural awards for the scheme’s superb design including one from the Sussex Heritage Trust. The scheme was  conceived to provide state of the art, flexible space with energy efficiency and the very best digital connectivity at its core.

In other moves that underline Circus Street’s place as Brighton’s newest tech hub, Global tech firm Hyve Managed Hosting has signed a lease for the top two floors of The Office at Circus Street, which has six main office floors including 30,000 sq ft of Grade A space and plenty of cycle storage and underground parking. The building is environmentally sustainable and has been built to enhance the wellbeing of those inside, evidenced by an industry leading BREEAM Excellent certification.

White Cloud Coffee will also be opening its doors soon across the public square from The Office, overlooking carefully designed and landscaped public spaces around South East Dance’s new Dance Space.

Developers U+I still have office space available in this exciting new area for businesses who wish to start out, spread their wings, establish their Brighton satellite office or upscale and join the Circus Street community. Get in touch to arrange a viewing at: Circusstreetbrighton.com
